United Airlines planes will soon have quality free Wi-Fi from Starlink

United Airlines has announced plans to offer free Wi-Fi on all of its aircraft through a partnership with Starlink. This innovation promises to put an end to internet problems at high altitude. United's CEO said that passengers will be able to use the internet on board just as they would on the ground.

Here's What We Know

Starlink, Ilon Musk's satellite internet service, provides a stable connection by transmitting a signal from low Earth orbit. Installing Starlink antennas on aircraft will greatly improve in-flight internet quality. United Airlines joins JSX and Hawaiian Airlines, which already use the service.

In a recent Wall Street Journal test on one flight, internet speeds reached over 100 Mbps on multiple devices. With such speeds, passengers will be able to watch videos, play games and even participate in video calls without any problems. Starlink has already established itself as a reliable internet service, especially in remote areas and for connecting Ukrainian military personnel on the battlefield in Ukraine.
