The Ukrainian Armed Forces are one step closer to getting American F-15 and F-16 aircraft: the U.S. will allocate $100 million of the defense budget for the training of Ukrainian pilots
On July 14, the United States House of Representatives passed a new version of the defense budget for the next fiscal year.
What we know
Ukraine's Ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova, said.: The lower house of Congress passed the $840 billion budget with 329 votes in favor and 101 votes against.
What is interesting, the budget included $100 million for a program to train Ukrainian pilots and familiarize ground personnel with American combat aircraft F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. This was pointed out by Voice Of America journalist Ostap Yarysh.
Naturally, we are not yet talking about transferring "NATO" planes to Ukraine, especially since the budget still needs to be approved by the Senate and signed by the U.S. President. Nevertheless, these are already the first steps towards the goal.
