Not just F-35 fighters: Czech Republic buys 210 Swedish CV90 BMPs
Recently we wrote that the Czech Republic is going to buy American F-35 fighters. As it turned out, this is not the only major purchase the Czechs are preparing to make.
What we know
According to Visegrád 24, the Czech Republic is going to buy 210 Swedish CV90 armored personnel carriers. The development of the BMP has been carried out since 1984 by Hägglunds company, owned by British BAE Systems, for the Swedish Army, and production of the vehicle started in 1993. Since then, about 1,170 machines in different versions have been produced.
There are currently five CV90 variants. The vehicles are designed for different combat missions and differ in armament. Which versions the Czech Republic is planning to purchase and when deliveries will start is not known yet.
