Ukrainian military fires Leopard 2 tanks for the first time

Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeyev has published a video of the first shot of a Leopard 2A6 operated by a Ukrainian crew. The video was recorded today, 20 February 2023.

Germany is preparing to send 14 Leopard 2A6 main battle tanks to Ukraine. The exercise is taking place in the city of Muenster and will last until the end of March this year.
In addition to the Leopard 2, Germany will provide Ukraine with 88 older Leopard 1 tanks. KMW has already started preparing the Leopard 1A5 for shipment. In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are to receive approximately 200 Leopard 1 tanks from various European countries.
