The Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed another Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system. According to Oryx, the Russian army has lost nearly two dozen such systems since 24 February.

Here's What We Know

In our case, the Russian surface-to-air missile system was hunted down by a Ukrainian Leleka-100 drone. The reconnaissance-level drone was developed by DeViRo.

Tor-M2 was destroyed by the forces of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Zakarpattia brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The self-propelled launcher was destroyed in the Zaporizhzhia region.

What weapon was used to hit the target is not yet specified. It is possible that it was a HIMARS artillery system. By the way, the Tor-M2 costs $25 million and the GMLRS projectile costs about $200,000.

As for the Leleka-100 drone, it has been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since spring 2021. The drone can conduct reconnaissance from an altitude of up to 1.5km and has a range of up to 100km. Leleka-100 is able to return to the set point in case of loss of communication due to the work of enemy electronic warfare means.
