BAE Systems receives more than $9.6m to produce M109A7 Paladin howitzers and M992A3 supply vehicles
The US Department of Defense has allocated additional funding to BAE Systems to produce and deliver the M109A7 Paladin self-propelled artillery systems. The customer is the US Army.

The contract is worth more than $9.6 million. Work will take place at BAE Systems' plant in York, Pennsylvania. The contract will expire on 19 March 2024. The number of howitzers is not specified.
The M109A7 Paladin is the latest upgrade to the M109 self-propelled artillery unit. It appeared in 2015. The howitzer is equipped with the M284 cannon. The range depends on the projectile and can be up to 40 km.
The combat vehicle is equipped with a 675 horsepower engine. It allows speeds up to 61 km/h. The maximum range is 300 km.
The contract also includes production and delivery of ammunition supply trucks M992A3 (FAASV), aka Carrier Ammunition Tracked (CAT). The vehicles are used as carriers of ammunition for howitzers.
