Aerojet Rocketdyne has been awarded a two-year, $23.8m contract to supply engines for Javelin anti-tank missiles
Lockheed Martin, which feared a deal between L3Harris and Aerojet Rocketdyne, may not worry at least about the engines for the Javelin. The company will continue to receive the propulsion systems for two years.
Here's What We Know
Lockheed Martin has signed a two-year agreement with Aerojet Rocketdyne worth $23.8 million. The contract involves manufacturing and supplying propulsion systems for the Javelin anti-tank missiles.
Aerojet Rocketdyne has been an engine supplier since the 2000s. During that time it has provided propulsion systems for more than 50,000 anti-tank missiles. President and CEO Eileen Drake said.
The contract was signed amid a decision by US authorities to significantly increase production of the Javelin. In late spring, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon were awarded a $7.2bn contract to supply anti-tank missiles to the US Department of Defense.
