First-ever deployment of B-52H nuclear bombers to Indonesia comes to an end - US Air Force returns strategic aircraft to Guam

A few weeks ago it became known that the US B-52H Stratofortress strategic jets, capable of carrying nuclear weapons, had visited Indonesia for the first time. The day before, the US Air Force officially announced that the deployment of the bombers had been completed.

Here's What We Know

Two B-52H Stratofortress aircraft and 60 US Air Force personnel took part in a brief exercise in Indonesia. The purpose of the exercise was to improve interoperability.

Bombers and personnel from the 5th Bomber Wing arrived in Indonesia. Its home base is US Air Force Base Minot, North Dakota. For the first time ever, a B-52H landed in Indonesia.

The exercise was an opportunity to enhance the ability of the US and Indonesian Air Forces to work together. After the event, the bombers and personnel left Indonesia and moved to Andersen Air Force Base on the island of Guam.
