Now it's official: the physical version of Baldur's Gate III for Xbox Series consoles will take up 4 discs
Michael Douse, publishing director at Larian Studios, has confirmed rumours that Baldur's Gate 3 will have as many as four discs during its physical release on Microsoft consoles. In his post on the X (Twitter) account, he said that the developers had to use four discs because the game exceeded the 3-disc space limit by 500 MB:
The Xbox retail version of Baldur's Gate 3 will indeed have 4 discs, as we're 500mb over the limit for 3. Only option would have been to cut some content out but that didn't make sense, so confirming 4. Updating here: https://t.co/xUoKLALyqr https://t.co/A2QQ3lI7y9

Here's What We Know
According to Dowse, the only way to release the game on Xbox discs was to cut some content and make players download additional files from the Internet, although the studio originally intended to make sure that owners of physical versions of the game did not have to download anything.
Interestingly, on the official Larian website, where you can pre-order the game, the Xbox version still has three discs in the photo.
Where To Play
Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
