Galaxy S21 Ultra level: Samsung Galaxy S21 FE shoots better than Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+
Last month, Samsung introduced a smartphone Galaxy S21FE, which has become another representative of the flagship Galaxy S21 family, but with some simplifications and a more attractive price. DxOMark specialists, of course, did not miss the novelty and reviewed its photo and video capabilities.
How does it shoot?
Recall that the main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is similar in appearance and set of sensors to the Galaxy S21 camera. The difference is that the 64 MP module was replaced
After testing the camera, DxOMark experts noted such pluses as good exposure and contrast, pleasant color in indoor and outdoor images, good texture in bright light, fairly accurate object selection in bokeh mode, accurate exposure, white balance and focus preview when zooming, good exposure in low contrast video, accurate white/color balance in bright light and indoor video, as well as generally good video autofocus and good video stabilization for static scenes.
But there are also disadvantages. These are limited depth of field, image noise in photos and videos, heavy noise in low-light video, ghosting, hue shifting and color fringing artifacts, sometimes inaccurate colors when zooming, slight underexposure in high contrast videos and frame shift, and ringing artifacts in video.
As a result, the Galaxy S21 FE received 120 points: 126 for photo, 63 for zoom and 104 for video.
By the way, this score is 1 point higher than the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+, and only 1 point less than the advanced Galaxy S21 Ultra.
