Game Director Hitman 3 will lead the development of Crysis 4
Crysis 4 has been announced in January with a tiny teaser trailer, but apart from the fact that it exists and that "Crysis 4" is just a working title, nothing more has been revealed. We haven't heard anything about the upcoming first-person shooter since - the first since Crysis 3 in 2012 - but rest assured it's alive. Today, the official Crysis account on Twitter announced the game director of the project.
And that's a name you can probably recognize: Matthias Engström was the game director of Hitman 3, but is now joining Crytek to lead the development of Crysis 4. Engström has contributed to the entire modern IO Interactive trilogy about Hitman as a level designer. for the first two before taking the helm of the final. He has also worked as a level designer at Ubisoft, especially on Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Prior to that, he worked on the Ubisoft World in Conflict series.
We are happy to announce that Mattias Engström, known for his work as Game Director for Hitman 3 at IO Interactive, joins the Crysis family as Game Director for the 4th installment in the Crysis franchise, starting this week. pic.twitter.com/hHkOrXIAt6

Crytek used this ad to point to their vacancies: the German studio is recruiting dozens of roles in the Crytek 4 project, from art director, game designer and level designer. Given the nature of the roles, it seems that Crysis 4 is still far from coming out.
