Apple releases new beta software for AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max
Following the announcement iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, Apple has released beta firmware for its wireless earbuds.
What is known
The update has received build number 5A5282d and is available for AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. The main innovation of the system was the improved Automatic Switching function, which allows the headphones to automatically switch between a smartphone, computer and tablet. What other changes were added to the firmware is unknown.
How to install
To install the software, you need to install the beta version of iOS 16, as well as the beta version of macOS Ventura and the beta version of Xcode 14. After that, you need to connect the headphones to the iPhone, and the iPhone to the computer. Next, you need to launch Xcode and select the Pre-Release Beta Firmware item in the AirPods Testing section. After that, the update will “fly over the air” to your headphones within a day.
