New York prepares for possible nuclear attack (video)

The New York City Mayor's Office has begun preparing the city's residents in case of a possible nuclear strike.

What is known

The New York City Department of Emergency Management (NYC Emergency Management) has published a video instruction which suggests an algorithm for what to do in the event of a nuclear strike. The video mentions the basic points necessary for survival:

• hide indoors (preferably in the basement);
• stay away from windows and close doors;
• take off your clothes and shower with soap;
• find a source of official information.

Authorities also recommend that you do not leave your home until authorized to do so.
