Blockchain and NFT are banned in Minecraft - projects related to these systems are devalued
With the advent of NFTs, the world has generally split into two camps. Among the opponents of the technology was the company Mojang - studio published statement discussing its relation to non-fungible tokens in Minecraft.
The developers have made it clear that blockchain and NFTs have no place in the cubic sandbox. These technologies contradict Minecraft's core principles of community and inclusiveness, as well as the game's terms of use.
"To ensure a safe and inclusive experience for gamers, blockchain technology is prohibited from being integrated into our servers and client. And Minecraft in-game content, such as worlds, skins, character items, or mods, cannot be used on the blockchain to create a scarce digital asset."
It is not yet clear how the studio will regulate tokens in Minecraft. However, her statement is already influenced on some of the most popular NFTs in the game. The NFT Worlds project is rapidly losing value (tokens have fallen in price from $4,500 to $2,100 per piece on average), and gamers are trying to get rid of assets as soon as possible.
Creators of the project confessed, which did not expect such a decision by Mojang. They tried to contact Microsoft to find out the reasons and "find an alternative solution". If the negotiations fail, the company has a way to fall back - most likely, the platform will be moved to another game similar to Minecraft.
