Frogwares is preparing a remake of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - it will be a sequel to Chapter One
Frogwares studio is famous first of all as a developer of games about Sherlock Holmes. Now the team wants to remake Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, a detective adventure from 2007.
If the original The Awakened was about an experienced detective, the future version will be devoted to the young Sherlock and will be a sequel to last year's Chapter One. Holmes and his new partner John Watson investigate their first great case. It begins with a seemingly simple hijacking, but quickly leads to a web of intrigue involving a cult that honors Cthulhu.
The story will cover four locations--Victorian London, a Swiss mental hospital, the bays of New Orleans and the Scottish mountains.
The authors promise the following changes:
- All-new Assets and graphics on Unreal Engine 4.
- New and redesigned animations.
- Completely redesigned cutscenes.
- Additional investigation mechanics.
- Rewritten plot. Among other things, the new The Awakened will tell the story of how Holmes and Watson became close friends.
- Minor case revisions are also mentioned.
- Additional side quests.
- New English voiceover.
- Updated interface.
- Third-person view (the original was a view from view).
- Additional amenities.
Funds for the remake will be raised through Kickstarter. Along with the launch of the campaign, Frogwares will publish a debut trailer, a video diary and details about gameplay mechanics.
Streamlined Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened will appear on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. When is unknown.
