The developer from Asobo Studio revealed more about the creation of A Plague Tale: Requiem

Asobo Studio level designer Kevin Pinson, who is responsible for the development of A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem, gave an interview for PCGamesN during Gamescom 2022 and told a lot of interesting things. Here we've chosen the most important things Pinson talked about.

Here's What We Know

The development team wasn't sure if A Plague Tale Innocence would be a success.

First of all, we know we're a small team of forty people, so we put our heart into A Plague Tale Innocence and did everything we wanted to do with the game. So the reception to the game was phenomenal for us - we read everything: every article, every review

Asobo Studio didn't immediately decide to do a sequel to the story.

When we saw the attitude towards the game, we wondered what we wanted to do next. But it wasn't clear that it would be a sequel to A Plague Tale. We're focused on story games, so we started thinking about the story. And then it made sense to bring back Amissia and Hugo and follow their journey. Basically, thanks to fan feedback, we started making a sequel.

Right now, however, the developers don't know what they're going to do next.

To be frank, we have no idea what to do next. We'll see how the game is perceived. We're not planning anything, that's for sure.

Asobo Studio is already at the finish line in developing a direct sequel to A Plague Tale named Requiem. In the world of the game, six months have passed from the events of Innocence. Hugo's illness has heated up, and Amicia must travel with him to a secret island where there may be the key to curing her younger brother. A Plague Tale: Requiem is scheduled for release on October 18 on XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. The game will immediately appear on Game Pass service.
