Almost a month longer than last year: how long does a Ukrainian have to work to buy a new iPhone 14 Pro?
The other day in Ukraine launched sales of new smartphones iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the prices of which caused another wave of jokes about the sold kidney and loans. And the Picodi.com team, as usual, calculated the iPhone index, that is, the number of days you need to work for a new gadget in different countries around the world, including Ukraine.
Here's What It Costs
The iPhone index (the cost of a smartphone in working days) provides the ratio of the price of the iPhone 14 Pro (version with 128 GB of memory) and the average salary in different countries around the world. For example, in Ukraine, the device costs 52,499 hryvnia, and the average salary is 13,957 hryvnia (11,236 on hand).
Thus, on average, a Ukrainian needs to work 98.1 days to collect the money for the iPhone 14 Pro. And that's assuming he saves all the money he earns. For comparison, in 2018 the index was 136.7 days, in 2019 - 96.7, in 2020 - 87, in 2021 - 69.9.
The most interesting thing is that Ukraine is in the first four of the anti-rating: more iPhone index only in Tajikistan (179.5 days), Turkey (146.7) and Kyrgyzstan (136.3). Residents of Switzerland (4.6 days), the U.S. (5.7) and Australia (6.1) have to work the least for the purchase.
