Spain will transfer four Hawk air defense systems to Ukraine; they can hit planes, helicopters and missiles at a distance of up to 50 km
The other day we wrote that Ukraine asks the U.S. for the MIM-23 Hawk anti-aircraft missile system, which can shoot down aircraft and missiles up to 50 km away. As it turned out, Spain will give them to us.
Here's What We Know
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov told about it. We are talking about 4 units so far. The supply of the systems should begin in the near future.

Flashback
The Hawk (Homing All the Way Killer) is an American medium-range SAM system. It was developed in 1954-1960 by Raytheon company. In 1960 it was adopted for service and since then it has received many modifications and improvements. The U.S. Army stopped using Hawk in 2002. More than 40 000 Hawk and Hawk-missile defense systems were produced. Hawk is capable of intercepting missiles and aircraft. Probability of engaging target is 85% (I-Hawk modification). Maximum range of the complex is 50 km.
