Japanese grim fantasy: a new colorful Final Fantasy XVI trailer tells the tragic story of the ancient kingdom of Valistei and the game's characters

Publisher Square Enix has published a new Final Fantasy XVI RPG trailer.

The trailer, titled Ambition, tells the backstory of the kingdom of Valisthea and its ruling Dominant class. This state has been in decline for a thousand and a half years, and the Dominants, inside which live the powerful and deadly Eikon beings, do nothing to remedy the situation.

The video shows plot snippets and epic gameplay footage.

The protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI will be Clive Rosfield, who is initially supposed to protect his younger brother Joshua - the Phoenix Dominator, but the twists and turns of the game make him change his plans and take revenge.

Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for release in the summer of 2023 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
