Google releases Nest Wifi Pro update to fix slow internet speeds
Google says that next week it will begin rolling out an update to its new Nest Wifi Pro router that will fix a slow internet speed issue that some users have been experiencing. In a statement to The Verge, Sanjay Noronha, Google's product manager for Nest Wifi, says the company is "currently investigating reports that a small number of users have experienced slow internet speeds on Nest Wifi Pro routers," and that "development teams are already working to fix the issue."
Here's What We Know
The router was released last month, and its main advantage was support for Wi-Fi 6E, which should provide speeds up to 5.4 Gbps (if your network supports it). It also supports 6GHz operation, which helps reduce network congestion and automatically adjusts "network performance to minimize disruptions".
But shortly after the release, some users reported that their routers were somehow limiting their speeds to between 40 Mbps and 90 Mbps. The first report of such problems appeared on the resource 9to5google.
