Officially: the U.S. will transfer Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, a new military aid package will be announced during Zelensky's visit to Washington

Recently we wrote that The U.S. may announce the transfer of Patriot and JDAM kits to Ukraine this week, which will include Patriot SAMs. Now the White House has officially confirmed this information.

Here's What We Know

According to the official press release, the new military aid package will be announced today, December 21, during President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington. According to the White House, the total amount of arms is about $2,000,000,000. The new aid package will include Patriot SAMs, as well as ammunition and other weapons. There is no information yet about when the supply of weapons will begin.

The MIM-104 Patriot is an American anti-aircraft missile system developed by Raytheon. It consists of an airborne interceptor missile and a high-performance radar system. The probability of hitting an aircraft is 0.8-0.9, while the tactical missile is 0.6-0.8. The cost of one missile is about $3 million.
