Ukrainian Armed Forces Capture Russian T-90S Export Tank - Modernization with Dynamic Protection and New Fire Control System for the First Time
Last week we wrote about the first documented destruction of a Russian T-90C tank. Now there is the first confirmation that the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to capture such a tank.
Here's What We Know
The T-90C is an upgrade of the T-90S, aimed at exports. In particular, to India and Algeria. The tank has an automatic gearbox and improved fire control system.

These tanks, originally intended for export, were instead transferred to the Russian army after the serious armour losses experienced. pic.twitter.com/AIfzVxH0Lh
Externally the combat vehicle differs from the regular T-90S in the presence of explosive reactive armor units. For their installation was necessary to remove Shtora-1 infra-red projectors, which provide protection from guided anti-tank missiles.
We first learned about the use of export T-90S tanks in early October 2022. Russia was supposed to start using the combat vehicles that were supposed to go to India. The Russian defense industry is also selling T-90S tanks to Vietnam and Turkmenistan.
