The Swedish government is considering handing over Stridsvagn 122 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson told the local edition of SVT about it. If the supply is approved, the tanks will be delivered to Ukraine later this year. By the way, there are 120 Stridsvagn 122 tanks in the Swedish Armed Forces now.

The Stridsvagn 122 is an upgraded version of the German Leopard 2A5 tank that is produced under license in Sweden. The tank has a reinforced running gear, additional armor, square shaped spotlights, safety belts, and the French GALAX smoke grenade launcher system. The Stridsvagn 122 was specifically designed to fight in Swedish environments, including wooded areas and urban areas.
