Ukrainian aviation starts using US air-to-ground unguided Zuni missiles

In January, the USA announced that it would transfer unguided Zuni missiles for aircraft to the AFU. Ukrainian aviation has already started using them.

Photos of the Zuni missiles were published by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the AFU, as well as military analyst @Osinttechnical.

The AFU is using Zuni with Su-25 attack aircraft. According to publicly available data, Ukraine has received around 4,000 of these missiles.

Flashback

The Zuni is an American unguided air-to-ground missile. It was developed in the 50s. It is designed to destroy ground targets at distances up to 8 km. The missile has a diameter of 127mm, weighs over 36kg and can fly at up to 2599km/h. The Zuni is equipped with different warheads: fragmentation, high-explosive, armour-piercing, illumination, smoke and dipole deflector.
