US announces new military aid package for Ukraine worth $1,200,000,000

The United States has announced a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
What is known
The new aid package is for $1,200,000,000. It includes:
- Additional air defence systems and ammunition;
- Equipment to integrate Western air defence systems into Ukraine's air defence system;
- Ammunition for countering UAVs;
- Artillery shells of 155 mm calibre;
- Commercial satellite imagery services;
- Support for training, maintenance and sustainment activities.
The assistance package will be transferred through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) programme. That is, the US will not take the weaponry from its own stockpiles, but from defence companies. It is not worth waiting for armaments in the near future.
