Real-time adventure strategy game Pikmin 4 was created on the Unreal Engine
Despite the fact that Unreal Engine has been widely used by game developers, it hasn't been common to see the engine used to develop games on Nintendo Switch, but it looks like there is one more exception to this rule - Pikmin 4.
Here's What We Know
It has become known that the real-time adventure strategy game Pikmin 4 was created using the Unreal Engine, although the exact version of the engine is not specified. This information was shared by @Genki_JPN on Twitter:

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Nintendo has used the Unreal Engine. The platformer Yoshi's Crafted World for Nintendo Switch, released in 2019, was also created using the development toolkit from Epic Games, although the game itself was developed by an external studio Good Feel. Pikmin 4, on the other hand, is a fully in-house development by Nintendo.
When We Can Expect It
Pikmin 4 is scheduled to release on July 21 for the Nintendo Switch.
