Purism Liberty Phone - US-made Linux-based smartphone for the price of two iPhone 14 Pro Max
Purism has unveiled a smartphone made in the US. The model is called Liberty Phone and is aimed at those who do not want to use Chinese-made devices.

The Liberty Phone has budget hardware, despite costing more than the most expensive iPhone 14 Pro Max. The smartphone is equipped with a six-year-old NXP i.MX 8M chipset, which has four ARM cores running at up to 1.5GHz.
The novelty comes with a 5.7" display with HD+ resolution (1440 x 720 pixels), Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 4, a headphone jack and USB-C 3.0. The battery capacity was 4,500mAh. The smartphone is available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The Liberty Phone is designed on the Linux operating system. Right out of the box, the smartphone runs on pureOS. However, the company says that users can install other operating systems.
The Liberty Phone costs $2199. For comparison. The most expensive iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1TB of storage in the US costs $1599, while the cheapest is $1099.
