Edinburgh Festival artists use artificial intelligence to write jokes
This summer, a number of actors will perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with jokes written by artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
A number of performers will either use the technology to write jokes or play on the fears caused by the rapid growth of its use.
London comedian Peter Bazely admitted that he was "out of ideas", so he turned to artificial intelligence to help him create a "believable" show. Australian comedian Tom Ballard also used ChatGPT to write jokes.
Among the stand-ups with higher technological qualifications, Colleen Lavin will speak on this topic. She is called a "professional hardware geek" who worked at NASA. In search of support for her debut performance in Edinburgh, she claims to have created a robot that can determine how funny her jokes are.
The robots will also take part in the festival as performers. The American comedian Stephen Brower has improved the prototype of the most acceptable gay man for his new show Palatable Gay Robot.
On the Pleasance Courtyard stage, the ideal female robot will face off against Courtney Pauroso, who will play the role of "sex robot" Vanessa 5000.
The Edinburgh Festival will take place from 4 to 28 August.
