Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Russian S-300V4 Antey surface-to-air missile system that can shoot down ballistic missiles
The Ukrainian defence forces have managed to destroy the Russian S-300V4 Antey air defence system. To be more precise, two components of the surface-to-air missile system were hit.
Here's What We Know
A month ago we wrote how HIMARS was used to destroy two 9A83 launchers and one 9A84 launcher and loader. Now photos of the destroyed 9A83M2 launcher and AA84-2 launcher and loader have been published.
The S-300V4 air defence system is an upgrade of the S-300V and S-300VM surface-to-air missile systems. It is capable of intercepting ballistic missiles and aerodynamic air threats.

The complex can use 9M82 and 9M83 interceptors. The maximum range of intercepting ballistic missiles is 40 kilometres, while the altitude range is from 1km to 25km. The S-300V4 can also shoot down cruise missiles within a range of up to 100 kilometres. The maximum speed of the targets to be hit is 3 km/s.
According to open sources, in 2022, the land forces of the Russian Federation had 24 launchers of the S-300V4 surface-to-air missile system. Oryx analysts have found no documentary evidence of the destruction of 9A83M2 launchers and 9A84-2 launch-loading vehicles. other than the cases we wrote about.
