Google introduced the "Android Enterprise Recommended"
Large OEM manufacturers of Android smartphones are often "hammered" by timely updates of security patches. But this is very important, especially for many corporate clients. Therefore, Google found a solution and introduced the "Android Enterprise Recommended" program.
What it is
"Android Enterprise Recommended" is a program that will determine which Android-smartphone is best suited for use in business. All devices should work minimum on Android 7.0 Nougat and be sold without "binding" to the operator. Since the announcement of Google's "fresh" security patches, manufacturers pledge to add them to smartphones in a timely manner for 90 days for 3 years. With each new device submitted, the requirements will be updated.
List of all supported smartphones:
- Google Pixel and Pixel XL (2016)
- Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
- BlackBerry KEYone and Motion
- LG V30 and G6
- Motorola X4 and Z2
- Nokia 8
- Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P10, P10 Plus, P10 Lite and P smart
- Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra
In the dry residue
Google has promised to expand it in the near future. It is not yet clear how the program will affect ordinary users, but now business customers will have a specific list of secure devices.
