The 2025 flagships will go up in price due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor moving to custom Oryon compute cores
Qualcomm has revealed few details about its next-generation flagship chip. It will be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

The key feature of the new chip will be the abandonment of semi-custom Kryo cores. They will be replaced by new computing solutions called Oryon. Qualcomm promises to find a balance between cost, energy efficiency and power.
We all understand that in the case of the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, Qualcomm will be inclined to increase performance. And this will lead to an increase in the cost of both the processor itself and the devices for which it is intended. First of all, we are talking about the flagship smartphones of 2025.
Presentation of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected in autumn 2024, and most of the new devices will appear already in 2025. As for the current generation chip, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it was unveiled a few days ago and debuted in Xiaomi 14 smartphones priced from $545.
