Netflix has announced a One Piece anime series
Following the success of the live-action film adaptation of one of the most popular anime of all time, One Piece, Netflix has announced plans to create an anime version.
Here's What We Know

"One Piece" already has an animated adaptation released in 1999 by Toei Animation studio. The Japanese series has over 1,000 episodes. Although it is stated that the new anime series will be independent, it is starting from the same place: an adaptation of the East Sea saga.
Series Overview
It's the story of pirate king Manky D. Luffy and his crew conquering the high waves in search of One Piece's royal treasure.
According to a statement from Variety, Netflix and studio WIT have confirmed that the series will "distinct from the TV anime series that has captivated audiences for over 25 years", giving viewers "viewers with a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy's adventures through the beloved East Blue saga.".
