The free-to-play horror game Silent Hill has been released on PlayStation 5: The Short Message
While we're all waiting for Silent Hill 2 Remake, Konami has released another game in this universe for PlayStation 5, and it's completely free (it still happens these days).
Here's What We Know
Silent Hill: The Short Message is a first-person horror game that Konmai calls "experimental" to see what works and what doesn't, as well as to attract players who are not familiar with Silent Hill.
The authors wanted to address contemporary issues in the game. The developers paid attention to how young people communicate online using their phones and what role this can play in psychological horror. For example, on social media, it's frightening how even small individual comments can grow and grow massively until they turn into a huge wave of hatred that comes at you. So often young people face bullying because of this.
Konmai also added that this is why they decided to build the story around such young characters. Characters who are suffering and confused, where even one more minor setback can drag them even deeper into a spiral of suffering. But, in the same way, even the smallest kindness can be the thing that pulls them away from the edge of the abyss. And this also makes this game a message to all those who live in conditions of constant conflict and pressure.
