Huawei launches new 80W vertical wireless charger with 3D cooling
Huawei has expanded its range of charging accessories with a new wireless charger that can deliver up to 80W of power. It works with most Huawei phones and is also compatible with the last few generations of iPhones.
Here's What We Know
The charger will be available in two colours, White Sand Silver and Obsidian Gray. It features a dual-coil design, allowing users to place compatible devices horizontally or vertically for charging. The charger's design includes a 60° visual elevation angle for a more comfortable smartphone experience while charging and an oval light-sensitive glass panel.
To manage heat during charging sessions, Huawei has integrated a 3D air cooling system. The base of the charger includes 3D air ducts to dissipate heat from both the charger and the phone.
As an added safety feature, the charger is equipped with a foreign object detection (FOD) function. With this feature on board, if any metal objects such as keys or coins are detected during charging, a flashing LED light will alert the user.
As previously mentioned, the charger works with many different devices.
Compatible devices:
- Phones: Huawei smartphones including the Mate 60, Mate 50, Mate 40, P60, P50, P40 and P30 series. It is also compatible with iPhone 13, 14 and 15 series devices.
- Tablets: Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8
- Headphones: Huawei FreeBuds, including FreeBuds Pro, FreeBuds Pro 2, FreeBuds Pro 2+, FreeBuds Pro 3, FreeBuds 3, FreeBuds 4 and FreeBuds 5.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Unfortunately, Huawei hasn't shared pricing details for the new charging adapter. For a possible price point, the less powerful 50W counterpart of this device from Huawei is currently available in China for 300 yuan. This is equivalent to about $23 US dollars. Thus, the new charger should cost more.
