Samsung Knox will appear on smart TVs in 2024
Samsung has announced that the security and control system now found on almost every Galaxy device, Knox, will also be on its latest smart TVs.
Here's What We Know
Designed to provide comprehensive security and privacy for businesses and everyday users alike, Samsung Knox recently received Common Criteria (CC) certification before launching on new smart TVs. CC (Common Criteria) certification is an international standard to ensure the reliability and security of information technology. The South Korean company notes that this is the 10th consecutive year it has achieved CC certification for Samsung Knox, which is an incredible achievement for Samsung's IT and security solution.
Of course, Knox has been available on Samsung smart TVs for quite some time now, so this is just information for those planning to purchase the 2024 model. The CC certification highlights three key aspects on which the Samsung Knox scored high:
- Tizen OS monitoring: the Samsung Knox actively detects potential hacking threats in real-time, flagging any unauthorised changes to critical sectors of the Tizen OS, the core of Samsung TVs.
- Phishing website blocking: Samsung Knox checks web pages accessed by users, proactively blocking any phishing sites to protect user data and privacy.
- Enhanced privacy protection: Samsung Knox ensures that users' sensitive personal data is securely protected through a secure connection to Samsung Knox Vault, a dedicated processor for security features.
Samsung 2024 TVs are not yet available to consumers, but the company already unveiled its lineup for the year in early January, so the first models are expected to arrive very soon.
