Foldable iPhone launch delayed until 2027
According to the latest leaks, the launch of the first foldable iPhone has been delayed and is now expected in early 2027. Previously, it was reported that the foldable iPhone would arrive in 2026, but it seems that the launch has been delayed.
Here's What We Know
According to South Korean publication Alphabiz, via well-known insider @Tech_Reve, the information comes from a senior official familiar with Apple's inner workings. He says that after "thorough preparations," it is clear that Apple plans to start selling its first foldable iPhone later than expected. Prior to this change, the fourth quarter of 2026 was highlighted. However, after this change, the first quarter of 2027 is mentioned.
The original Samsung Galaxy Fold was launched in February 2019. If this launch date of the first foldable iPhone turns out to be correct, Apple's first foldable iPhone will come 8 years after Samsung. Given that this is Apple we're talking about, it's already becoming obvious that the company isn't in a big hurry to chase trends. Apple likes to develop technology before incorporating it into its products. But that's still quite a long time away.
Either way, many people are waiting for the first foldable iPhone. Foldable phones are becoming more and more popular as interest in them grows. We've already seen some outstanding foldable smartphones on the market last year and we're expecting a lot of foldable new products this year as well. But to see the first foldable offering from Apple, we will have to wait for almost three years.
