Insider: Resident Evil 9 horror game will surprise gamers with a full open world
No one doubts that Capcom is already seething with work on Resident Evil 9, especially since a few days ago a slide supposedly showing the exact release date of the game appeared online.
The developers are yet to reveal any information about the new horror game, but insiders are handling this task.
Here's What We Know
Reputable insider Dusk Golem, who regularly shares reliable information, said that Resident Evil 9 may feature a full-fledged open world or elements of it.
He justified this information by the fact that Capcom usually approves the concept of three major games at once and as the first game is being developed - improves the toolkit of the RE Engine, and then uses the developments in the remaining two projects.
Dusk Golem elaborates on the thought and believes that the first of the last three games was Dragon's Dogma II. It is followed by Monster Hunter Wilds, which is being created on an updated version of the engine and is also an open-world game. Following the logic of Dusk Golem, Capcom is also creating Resident Evil 9 with the same concepts and mechanics as the two RPGs mentioned above.
It's worth noting that the idea of open world is difficult to combine with the genre of horror, but the previous Resident Evil (Village) already had elements of open world and theoretically nothing prevents to make an interesting experiment and develop the idea of open world in horror to a full-fledged game.
