Now, when users ask Gemini for directions, it automatically redirects them to Google Maps.

This update helps to avoid the inconvenience of manually clicking on a link to get directions after a brief route overview in Gemini. Gemini now automatically launches Google Maps navigation after providing a brief overview of the route, time and distance.

The Gemini update also includes automatic sending of voice commands to Google Maps, allowing users to use the two apps together even more efficiently.

Gemini does not require the traditional Google Assistant to perform tasks.
