Apple has announced significant changes to its App Store policy to comply with the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA). One of the biggest innovations is the permission for emulators of retro games in the App Store.
Here's What We Know
This step allows developers to create and distribute iOS game emulators, and also enables retro game emulator apps to offer games for download. However, according to the updated rules, companies that develop emulator apps must own the rights to these games.
Additionally, Apple introduced new "Music Streaming Service Permissions" for apps distributed in the EU. These guidelines allow music streaming apps in certain regions to include links to external websites and purchase buttons.
