The biggest update for the System Shock remake has been released: it's now possible to play the game as a female protagonist
Nightdive Studios has released the biggest patch for the System Shock remake.
Here's What We Know
As previously announced, the main innovation of the patch is the ability to choose a female protagonist.
This option was promised to backers on Kickstarter on condition that a certain amount of money could be raised, and now, finally, the hacker appeared in the game. The choice of this character will not affect gameplay, but will significantly change the atmosphere of System Shock.
In addition, Nightdive, by numerous requests of gamers, changed the final boss fight, as well as made adjustments to the ending of the game. The developers added support for cloud saves, improved optimisation, introduced pointers on the map at low difficulty level and made a number of other changes, the full list of which can be found on the game's Steam page.
Recall, while System Shock Remake is available only on PC, and on the 21st of May the game will finally be released on PlayStation and Xbox of both current generations.
