Tom Holland shared an update on the fourth instalment of the Spider-Man: We have to keep the legacy alive
Tom Holland has spoken for the first time about his work on the fourth Spider-Man film. Although Spider-Man 4 hasn't officially started shooting yet, the numerous rumours about the film add to the certainty that it will be filmed.
Here's What We Know
In a recent conversation with reporters after the premiere of the short film Last Call, which starred Holland, the actor admitted that he is actively involved in the early stages of development of the new Spider-Man. Holland also confirmed that he will always be willing to star in new Spider-Man films, as the character has played a pivotal role in his career and life. However, his main goal remains to avoid repeating past storylines in the new Spider-Man films.
"We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the things right. This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing somethings." Holland said.
We're sure many fans remember the moment when it looked like the partnership between Sony and Marvel Studios would end and Spider-Man would no longer appear in the MCU. However, the companies reached a new agreement, allowing for the creation of Spider-Man: No Way Home, one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
Making a fourth Spider-Man film requires meeting high expectations and faces disagreements between Sony and Marvel Studios over the future of the franchise. Sony is reportedly keen to take Peter Parker on a journey through the multiverse, while Marvel Studios prefers to focus on a more down-to-earth story that connects Spider-Man to other heroes like Daredevil and Kingpin.
We look forward to further updates.
