US newspapers sue OpenAI for copyright infringement
Major US newspapers have filed a federal lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI, accusing them of using their materials to train generative artificial intelligence systems.

Eight newspapers owned by investment company Alden Global, including the New York Daily News and the Chicago Tribune, filed a lawsuit claiming that tech companies copied millions of their articles to train AI.
Earlier, Microsoft and OpenAI have already been sued by several media outlets: The New York Times, The Intercept, Raw Story, and AlterNet. An OpenAI spokesperson said that the company is "very careful about our products and development process to support news organisations". A Microsoft spokesperson declined to comment on the complaint.
