What will Dan Houser be surprised by? It looks like the Rockstar Games co-founder's new company is developing an ambitious open-world action game
In the summer of 2023, one of the most famous game designers and co-founder of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, started his own company to develop games and other types of media content.
In November, Dan Houser's new studio Absurd Ventures has revealed the first details of two debut projects, and they're not video games about the debut projects and they were not related to the game industry. American Caper, a graphic novel, and A Better Paradise, a 12-episode audio production, were announced.
It is still unknown about what games Absurd Ventures will be involved in, but thanks to the published list of vacancies we can make preliminary conclusions.
Here's What We Know
Absurd Ventures is looking for experienced professionals for the positions of Art Director, Lead Designer, Lead Gameplay Designer and Technical Lead.
The job description mentions:
- Open-world action adventure game;
- third-person camera;
- multiple game modes, including multiplayer;
- The need to create a "best-in-class" combat system;
- non-combat types of gameplay - driving, parkour, platforming and so on;
- engine - Unreal Engine.
As a reminder, Dan Hauser made a name for himself as the head writer for Rockstar Games, he is the author of the plots of most parts of GTA, Bully, two parts of Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3.
