According to documents released by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Samsung is preparing a new Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 smart watch that will support 15W charging. Also in the FCC database found information about charging in another model - Galaxy Watch 7 FE.

Here's What We Know

The company's latest smart watches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, support up to 10W charging. However, it looks like Samsung's new product, the Galaxy Watch 7, will have a 50 per cent faster charging speed.

The FCC recently registered the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 FE on its website. A close look at the specs reveals that the Galaxy Watch 7 supports 15W charging. One of the four variants of the Galaxy Watch 7, the SM-L305, supports charging at 5V and 3A, which equates to 15W. The other three variants of the new smart watch, SM-L300, SM-L310 and SM-L315, are also expected to support 15W charging.

In theory, the Galaxy Watch 7 should charge 50 per cent faster than the Galaxy Watch 6, which takes about an hour and a half to charge from 0 per cent to 100 per cent. So, in theory, the Galaxy Watch 7 should charge in just 45 minutes from 0% to 100%.

Unfortunately, Samsung has not included a faster charging speed on the Galaxy Watch 7 FE. Certification documents show that the Galaxy Watch 7 FE only supports 5W charging, which is 50% slower than the Galaxy Watch 6. This means that Samsung's new affordable smart watch can take almost three hours to charge from 0% to 100%, which is quite a lot.
