Not this time: reputable insiders debunk the rumour of a deal between Microsoft and Valve
Today almost all gaming media, including ours, reported insider information (rumour) that Microsoft is planning to buy Valve for $16 billion.
This information initially looked a bit strange because of the modest amount for such a deal, and now reputable insiders refute this rumour, which was spread by a well-known contentmaker in the Counter-Strike community under the nickname Dior.
Here's What We Know
Tom Warren, editor-in-chief of The Verge portal, categorically rejected Dior's information. He was joined by well-known insider Kurakasis, who laughed at the rumour and compared it to a classic "Nigerian Prince" style scam.
I can't believe I have to say this but of course Microsoft isn't "preparing an offer of $16 billion for Valve." Giving blue ticks to everyone was a bad idea ????

To summarise: Microsoft isn't buying the owner of Steam, Counter-Strike, Dota and Half-Life. And if such a deal were discussed, its value would be several times higher.
Dissent.
