Spain to train 400 more Ukrainian soldiers

The Spanish Ministry of Defence explained that they will increase the number of Ukrainian soldiers who will be trained there. An additional 400 soldiers will be accepted for training.

Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles and her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov discussed this at a meeting.

The official confirmed that they would take 400 Ukrainian soldiers for training, as Ukraine had previously asked them to accept more soldiers to improve their basic training. Earlier, about 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained in Spain.

In February, it became known that Spain had also organised training for Ukrainian servicemen on the maintenance of Patriot missile systems. The General Staff noted that this is one of the key areas of training that Spain has taken over.

Spain is conducting training as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM-UA). This initiative was created by the EU to train the Ukrainian military.
