Prior to the closure news, Tango Gameworks was working on two unannounced games, but we definitely won't be seeing them
In early May it became known that There will be no sequel to The Evil Within and Pray: Microsoft is shutting down Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin and two other studios, including Tango Gameworks - the author of Hi-Fi Rush, The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo.
This decision surprised gamers, journalists and analysts, as the games of the Japanese studio always received high marks and were remembered by players for a long time. There is no doubt that Tango would release many more excellent and unusual games, and today it became known that at least two projects were already being worked on.
Here's What We Know
In his Linkedin profile, former Tango Gameworks employee Tsuyoshi Okugawa indicated that he was the lead programmer on an unannounced game from 2023 to 2024, and that he was working on another secret project as a graphics programmer.
There's no information about these games, of course, but right after the news of Tango Gameworks' closure, it was reported that the studio was offering Microsoft concepts for a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush. Most likely, the sequel to the hit rhythm action game was one of the games in Okugawa's portfolio, and as for the second one, we can only speculate.
Either way, we definitely won't be seeing these games.
And that's a pity.
