Samsung is under investigation after two workers were exposed to radiation

South Korea has launched an investigation into Samsung after two workers at its chip factory were exposed to radiation. The incident took place at the factory in Gihyin, near the capital, Seoul.

Here's What We Know

The cause of the radiation exposure has not yet been determined and it is not yet clear what exactly caused it. The workers were hospitalised with "abnormal" symptoms on their fingers, although their blood tests showed no abnormalities. In response to the incident, South Korea's Nuclear Safety Commission has suspended the use of equipment that could have caused radiation exposure to prevent a recurrence while it investigates.

It is too early to draw conclusions about possible safety violations at the plant. Possible causes of the incident could include both technical failure and human error. Samsung has not yet commented on the situation, but it is understood that the company supports the investigation and is interested in ensuring a safe working environment for its employees.
