Here's What We Know
The US President publicly apologised to Ukraine for the months-long delay in the delivery of military aid, which made the situation on the front much more difficult.
I apologise for those weeks when I didn't know what was going to happen in terms of funding. We will always be there for Ukraine
Joe Biden once again confirmed that the US will not leave Ukraine without support in the face of an aggressor and officially announced the allocation of $225 million in military aid to Ukraine.
The new aid package will include:
- ammunition for HIMARS rocket artillery systems;
- mortar systems and artillery shells;
- HAWK air defence missiles;
- Stinger anti-aircraft missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- 155 mm howitzers;
- armoured vehicles;
- patrol boats;
- explosives and additional spare parts.
We shall remind you that on 31 May, the USA gave Ukraine permission to launch strikes with US weapons against military facilities in the border areas of Russia.
