Apple has announced a number of new accessibility features coming to iPhone and iPad with the release of iOS 18 this autumn. Among the improvements, such as Eye Tracking and updates to Vision Pro, Apple also plans to make some accessibility updates to CarPlay.
Here's What We Know
In iOS 18, CarPlay users will have access to features such as voice control, colour filters, and audio recognition.
- With voice control, owners will be able to navigate CarPlay and control apps with just their voice.
- The audio recognition feature allows drivers and passengers with hearing impairments to be notified of car horns and sirens.
- Colour filters make the CarPlay interface visually easier to use for colour-blind users, with additional visual accessibility features including bold and large text.
The new features will be released starting with iOS 18 this autumn. iOS 18 will be announced at Apple's WWDC on 10 June.
